Wills and powers of attorney in Israel
How an ordinary will, mutual wills, deposit of a will, and a general or irrevocable power of attorney work under Israeli practice.
A will in Israel can be handwritten, made before witnesses, or made before an authority. Couples sometimes sign two mutual wills. Depositing a will drafted by another lawyer is a separate Bar line item. Notarial wills follow the notary tariff, not the attorney minima.
Powers of attorney
A general or irrevocable power of attorney is common for real-estate closings and for people who are abroad. The document must be precise about what the attorney-in-fact may sign. If it will be used outside Israel, notarial form and apostille may be required.
Keep the file current
Marriage, divorce, new children, or a new apartment are typical moments to review a will. Revoking a prior power of attorney can require a notarial notice. Compare attorney minima and notary stamps on the attorney and notary fee pages.
